 2025 Bare Knuckles Trucks Rules

With 10 or more trucks:

 

First place $2500

Second place $1000

Third place $500

 

25 or more trucks $5000 $2000 $750

 

Less than 10 trucks will default to 100% payback. 

 

All drivers must wear long sleeves, a helmet, pants and closed toed shoes to compete. Also must use a lap belt only in the car. Eye protection is mandatory.

 

Trophies will 5ft 4ft and 3ft

 

Ethics clause:

 

Loudmouth Promotions will always uphold confidentiality between driver and promotor when regarding rule questions, registrations and all other build procedures. We understand what it is to build at this level and we will not gossip with other drivers in a distasteful manner. We feel this bias harms the sport and can put drivers at a disadvantage.

 

Strongarm clause:

 

Loudmouth Promotions will NOT be strongarmed or influenced by any driver on rules, regulations, entry fees or anything of the like. ALL drivers will conform to ALL rules at ALL times or you be disqualified from the event regardless of “status”, experience or credibility.

 

Behavior clause:

 

Drivers and their crews will demonstrate a respectful behavior toward all Loudmouth officials, and all other drivers, at all times. There will be zero tolerance for profanity, fighting, destruction of property or any other destructive behavior at any Loudmouth events. If you fail to demonstrate respectful behavior at our shows you will be asked to leave and will be banned from future Loudmouth events. This is a rule like all others and MUST be followed!!

 

Hit clock will be 30 seconds

 

Sandbagging clause:

 

Sandbagging will NOT be tolerated! You will be allowed to drive, but you will not camp in the corner and win this show! This is a rule like every rule and must be followed!

 

Team driving will not be allowed. If we see team driving we will break it up. 

 

Cars may not be decorated with profanity or hate speech. Have your number on your door or roof sign highly visible so we can distinguish drivers.

 

NO passengers will be allowed at this event. 

 

All trucks must be 1/2 ton. No 3/4 ton or 1 ton trucks. 1/2 ton vans and suburbans are allowed. 4 wheel drives are allowed but the front drive shaft must be removed completely. 

Used trucks will be allowed, and must comply to all rules.

 

Wording definitions: 

  1. “Must”: this means “has to be”.

  2. “May”: this means you can, but if you don’t, there are no other options available unless specified. 

 

Body:

  1. Doors may be welded with (8) 4”x4”x1/4” plates max per side of the vehicle. 

  2. Cages must be made of 3”x3” material max.

  3. You must have (1) door bar per front driver and front passenger door, (1) dash bar and (1) bar behind the seat 

  4. All cage components must be 6” off the floor

  5. Door bars must not extend more than 8” past the vertical door seams. 

  6. You must have a gas tank protector mounted off the back bar of your cage extending into the box no more than 26”. Gas tank protector may be 32” wide. This is the only way to mount your gas tank. Gas tank protector must be 6” off the floor of the box. 

  7. You MUST have (1) bar per side from the gas tank protector to the roof bar. Roof bars are mandatory, these can be made of 3”x3” max material. 

  8. No down bars to floor or frame allowed. No down bars or kickers of any type. 

  9. On vans and suburbans, the gas tank protector must be 24” in front of the center of the rear axle. No bars to the roof bar on vans or suburbans. All cage components in vans and suburbans must be 6” off the floor. 

  10. If you have a “barn door” style vehicle you may weld the back doors shut with (10) total 3”x4”x1/4” plates. 

  11. You may use (3) 3”x4”x1/4” plates to weld the box to the cab per side. This means (3) on the drivers side and (3) on the passenger side. Vertical seams only. 

  12. Body mounts must remain stock. No moving the box up to the cab. If we catch you doing this you will be loaded. 

  13. You may replace (6) body mounts with 30” long 1/2” threaded rod max. You will be allowed (3) nuts and (3) washers to mount these. These may not attach to cage in any way. No welding of the threaded rod will be allowed. 

  14. Bed sides may be laid over and you may weld a 2”x12”x1/4” strap from the bed side to the rear bumper. The front of the box may not be manipulated when doing this and must remain intact with the bed sides. Front of the box must remain factory shape. Bed sides must remain intact with the front of the box like factory. 

  15. If you decide to run a tailgate you may weld the vertical seams with (3) 3”x4” 1/4” plates. This means 3 on the drivers side and 3 on the passenger side. Vertical seams only. 

  16. You may have a 1/8” thick radiator protector or expanded metal over the radiator bolted on with (3) 3/8” bolts per side or (3) 1” stitch welds per side. Or you may use a factory condenser. This must not cover an area exceeding the radiator opening in the core support. 

 

Frame/ bumpers:

  1. All frames must remain factory. The only welding to the frame allowed will be the bumper brackets. No other welding or manipulating of frames in any way, of any sort. If we find any tampering with the frame other than welding bumper brackets you will be loaded. No exceptions. 

  2. Bumper brackets may be made of 4”x1/4” strap max and must not extend more than 6” on the frame. 

  3. Any factory stuffed bumper will be allowed, no Chrysler pointys will be allowed. 

  4. If you cannot find a factory automotive bumper you may fabricate a bumper out of 8x8 max material with a 4” point spread out over 32”.

  5. Rear bumpers must be factory rear 1/2 ton truck bumpers 

  6. Front bumper height may not exceed 30” to top of the bumper, or any part of it. 

  7. Rear bumper height may not be less than 16” to the bottom.

  8. Bumpers must be mounted in the factory location.

 

Driveline:

  1. Any engine allowed.

  2. Engines may be mounted with a front plate/ lower cradle only.

  3. You may have (2) 3/8 12” long engine chains and you may weld 2 links to the frame and 2 links to the engine cradle. No welding engine chain solid. 

  4. Engine mounts must be factory 74 Chevy impala style motor mounts 

  5. No trans braces 

  6. No rearend braces allowed 

  7. No pinion brakes allowed 

  8. Sliders will be allowed

  9. No distributor protectors 

  10. No mid plates 

  11. No oil pan protectors

  12. No full size factory automotive gas tanks allowed. 

  13. Rearend gears may be welded. 

  14. Aftermarket pedals, steering column, and shifters will be allowed 

  15. Nothing may be mounted to strengthen the vehicle.

  16. 4 leafs max with a 6” stagger will be allowed in the rear. No relocating shackles or brackets to swap in a thicker leaf pack. If it doesn’t fit like factory you can’t run it. 

  17. Rearends must be 8 lug max. You may have (1) 3/8” chain per side wrapped around the axle to the frame held together with a single 3/8” bolt. One loop of chain only. 

  18. Rims must be factory with a 2” max valve stem protector. Rear rims may have a full center welded in. Rims must not be reinforced in anyway. Any tire allowed. 

 

Suspension:

  1. All suspension components must remain factory. Factory replacement parts for the year, make and model only will be allowed. 

  2. No welding of a arms or locking suspension allowed. 

  3. Tie rods and steering components must remain factory. 

  4. You may reinforce the middle of the tie rod with a piece of 1x1 angle or equivalent.
